Privacy Policy
Last updated: August 26, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how TranslaNova handles information when you use our translation, dictionary, pronunciation, phrasebook, and language-learning features.
Information You Provide
When you use the translator, you may submit words, phrases, or other text for translation and dictionary lookup. When you use the contact form, you may provide your name, email address, and message. TranslaNova does not currently require an account to use its core features.
Translation and Dictionary Processing
Text submitted for translation may be sent to DeepL or other service providers used to generate the requested translation. Dictionary and language-reference requests may be processed by TranslaNova's curated data and supporting language services. We use these services to provide the requested functionality, troubleshoot problems, prevent abuse, and maintain service reliability.
Text-to-Speech
When you press a Listen or pronunciation control, the text to be spoken and its language may be sent to Google Cloud Text-to-Speech so that TranslaNova can generate audio. If that service is unavailable, your browser's built-in speech system may be used as a fallback.
Favorites, History, and Local Storage
Favorites, translation history, and certain interface preferences are stored locally in your browser using local storage. These saved items are intended to remain on the device and browser where they were created unless you clear your browser data. TranslaNova does not currently provide account-based synchronization for these features.
Usage Data and Analytics
We use Google Analytics and similar measurement technologies to understand traffic, page usage, device and browser information, approximate location, referrals, and how visitors interact with the site. This helps us improve performance, reliability, and usability.
Advertising, Cookies, and Identifiers
TranslaNova uses Google AdSense to support the free service. Google and other advertising partners may place or read cookies, use device identifiers, IP addresses, web beacons, or similar technologies to measure advertising, prevent fraud, and deliver or personalize ads where permitted. Where required by law, consent choices may be presented before certain advertising or measurement technologies are used.
Google, as a third-party vendor, uses cookies to serve ads on TranslaNova. Google's use of advertising cookies may enable Google and its partners to serve ads based on visits to TranslaNova or other websites. Users can manage personalized advertising through Google's Ads Settings and other applicable privacy controls.
Your Choices
You can control or delete cookies and local storage through your browser settings. You can also use browser privacy controls and applicable Google advertising controls. Where a consent message is presented, you can use that message to manage available advertising and privacy choices.
Data Retention and Security
We retain information only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this policy, legal requirements, security, troubleshooting, and service operation. Third-party providers may maintain their own limited logs under their respective policies. No internet service can guarantee absolute security, but we use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect the service.
International Users and Privacy Rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights regarding access, correction, deletion, restriction, portability, or objection to certain processing. Information may be processed in countries other than your own. Contact us if you want to exercise a privacy right that applies to you.
Contact and Policy Updates
We may update this Privacy Policy as TranslaNova changes. Material updates will be reflected by the date shown above. For privacy questions or requests, use the Contact page or email contact@translanova.com.
